Why choose DAYTRONIC?
Low Lifecycle Cost, Excellent Lighting Comfort, Optimum Energy Savings
Selecting a Daylight Harvesting Dimming System can be complicated and time consuming. However, there are
2 main objectives which are the key to an informed decision making:
- Lifecycle Cost: Carefully look at all costs that are involved such as planning costs, product costs, installation costs and service costs
- Lighting Comfort & Energy Savings: On the other hand, check which lighting comfort the system actually delivers. Check how granular the sensor zones are.
For best lighting comfort and for optimum energy savings, the rule is: The smaller the zones, the better.
DAYTRONIC delivers a unique combination of advantages over any other Daylight Harvesting system.

Specialist (expensive) planning is required
Most systems require careful design of sensor zones, especially when several fittings are controlled
by one sensor: Where shall the sensor be placed?
Which fittings should be controlled by this one sensor? How shall they be wired?
The lighting conditions across most rooms usually differ significantly from the sensor location, so this kind of planning
requires (expensive) specialist skills and experience to find the best compromise between lighting comfort and energy savings.

DAYTRONIC cuts planning costs.
DAYTRONIC works with very small zones -
each light fittings has its own zone. In
combination with the DAYTRONIC
intelligence in each fitting, this guarantees
ideal lighting comfort and maximum energy
savings in any case. No special planning skills required.

Installations on site is complicated
They generally require the installation of low voltage control wiring between a central sensor and each light fitting.
Each fitting still requires a dimming ballast. This wiring
usually needs to be installed on site (in the ceiling) and can often require time-consuming work.
In addition,
the sensors need to be calibrated to the right level.
This usually requires a luxmeter and repeated adjustments of each sensor.

|
DAYTRONIC cuts installation costs.
Installation of a DAYTRONIC fitting is identical to that of a
standard light fitting. Every electrician can do it quickly. On site, no calibration is required - DAYTRONIC is precalibrated with the uniquely simple filter cap system.
No control wiring, no luxmeter, no sensor adjustments required.

Photosensors are bulky and obtrusive and do not match elegant fixtures
Other systems require bulky or protruding
sensors. These sensors are usually larger because they need to contain the required Daylight Harvesting Intelligence. In
contrast to DAYTRONIC, this intelligence is not part of the ballasts. As a result, these sensors often interferes with the
original design of the fitting. The result is visually not very appealing.

|
DAYTRONIC looks great.
DAYTRONIC integrates very unobtrusively
into any light fitting. The small DAYTRONIC
sensor becomes a very small, yet recognisable
design feature that fits in well with any light
fitting.

DAYTRONIC makes Daylight Harvesting affordable
Compared to the overall cost of other Daylight Harvesting installations
(which deliver a comparable quality of lighting control) a solution
with DAYTRONIC usually wins the overall cost comparison.
DAYTRONIC is proven and reliable
DAYTRONIC has been available in the leading energy saving countries in Europe for several years and
has been continuously refined. DAYTRONIC has an installed base of more than hundred thousand units in a range of small, medium and large projects. DAYTRONIC is 100% engineered and manufactured in Germany to the most demanding quality standards.
With DAYTRONIC you comply to modern Building Codes
Daylight Harvesting is quickly becoming an elemental part of Building Codes in most countries in the world. Daylight Harvesting is becoming
a fixed requirement for new buildings and for renovations. There is no simpler way to comply to these requirements than with DAYTRONIC.
DAYTRONIC raises energy awareness
Seeing DAYTRONIC in action gets people talking - and thinking! You can easily demonstrate the automatic dimming capability to staff and visitors.
It quickly raises your colleagues' and employees' general awareness for energy efficiency which in turn often results in a more efficient use of energy
in other areas of your building (for example more conscious use of heating and cooling).
