How can you switch to DAYTRONIC?

There are 2 main options: DAYTRONIC can be retrofitted into existing fixtures or installed into new fittings at the factory of the manufacturer.

Retrofitting

Although retrofitting is technically possible, it is feasible only in few project. For example, if you have very special light fittings that you want to keep. In this case it might make sense to rewire the light fittings, i.e. take out the existing ballast and put in DAYTRONIC instead. This saves the time that you would need to install new fittings (and their cost) but it really only makes sense in special circumstances. If you have affordable labour at hand, this might also be an option. If your fittings are aged or approaching the end of their lifetime anyway we definitely recommend to look at getting new fittings, equipped with DAYTRONIC ex factory instead.

Get new light fittings, equipped with DAYTRONIC ex factory

In most projects, this will be the superior option. The ideal time for this is during a refurbishment of your building or floor or when you plan to replace / upgrade your old light fittings anyway. Light fitting design has evolved and new light fittings will in most cases give you a much better lighting quality. For example, thanks to refined reflector design, you might not even need the same size of lamps in the new fittings to give you the same light levels. So this would add further to the savings (for example going from 2 x 36W to 2 x 28W with DAYTRONIC).

We work with various manufacturers and we are happy to team up with any manufacturer of your choice. You will receive your selected light fittings from your supplier with DAYTRONIC already fully installed. This turns Daylight Harvesting into a true "plug & play" solution.
